St. Patrick’s Day is only one day in the middle of the month of March, so I don’t usually make the effort to decorate for it. But I love quick and easy centerpieces for smaller holidays like this, and this one is a fun way to bring the shamrock spirit!
Supplies for this St. Patrick’s Day Table Decor.
I already had green and white faux florals and glass vases as a base for this fun centerpiece. All I needed were some gold coins and St. Paddy’s Day picks to complete the theme.

Here’s what I used:
- Glass vase
- Slightly smaller glass vase
- 4 bags of 48-count plastic shamrock coins (how many depends on your vase sizes)
- An assortment of white and green faux flowers
- Shamrock picks

How to Make this St. Patrick’s Day Centerpiece.
1. Nest the vases: First place a smaller vase inside the larger vase. We’re using a little trickery to make it look like the vase is full of gold, but we don’t want to invest a lot of real coin in doing it! The closer to size you can get the inside vase, the fewer coins you’ll need.

SH&H Tip: Instead of the smaller vase, you can also use a metal cup, glass, can, jar, or anything that’s the right size and slightly smaller than the outside vase.
2. Add the coins: The gold coins are what makes this cute centerpiece shine! You can easily find some at the dollar store or craft store before St. Patrick’s Day. Place the coins in the space between the larger and smaller vase.

When I got near the top I wedged coins next to the glass behind the ones underneath to make them reach as high as possible:

3. Insert the floral arrangement: I added an assortment of white florals in different types and textures. Then I noticed I had some green-ish hydrangeas and mixed those in too.

SH&H Tip: If you don’t need the arrangement to last for long, fresh flowers instead of fake are a beautiful option. Add water to the inner vase and cut the stems to the right height.
4. Stick in the picks: To finish the centerpiece off, add dimension, and really make it say St. Paddy’s, I added some glittery lucky shamrocks, and a couple of different picks with the signature St. Patrick’s three leaf clover.

You could also use it as:

- A table centerpiece
- Dining table decor for a St. Patty’s Day dinner—instead of one large centerpiece put individual pots of gold coins in mason jars at each place setting with a single bloom or pick.
