Come Sit By Me: Volume 42
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
This week has been a blur of tying things up before back-to-back trips. Tomorrow I head to Colorado, and I can’t wait to swap the heat and humidity for crisp mountain air in the seventies. Somehow I agreed to do my very first 14er, which has me excited but also nervous about keeping up. Wish me luck that I make it up and down without incident or injury! From the photos I’ve seen, the scenery looks breathtaking, and I can’t wait to see it with my own eyes.
As for packing for my trip (which I should be doing right now but putting it off), every single time I swear I’m going to start early. Yet somehow I still end up throwing things into a suitcase the day before. I’m just glad I have my packing list to tell me what to bring so I don’t have to think about it too hard.
Speaking of packing, I’ve heard some women swear by using a collapsible clothing rack when they pack, so it’s easier to see outfits together and mix and match pieces. I’ve never tried it, but I’m loving the idea. Do you do that, or have you heard of anyone who does?
And in the midst of trying to work ahead before these trips, one of my favorite friends was a houseguest this week and will stay on after I leave. We filled what free time we had with our typical long conversations that bounce from life’s big questions to the ridiculous things that make us laugh so hard our stomachs hurt. It was the best kind of reminder of how good it feels to have those people in your life who just “get” you.💗

Nothing says cozy fall quite like the glow of a candle, and this simmered Cider copper pot candle is pure autumn in a jar!

These maraschino cherry chocolate chip cookies look as pretty as they are delicious. The bright cherries add a festive pop of color and sweetness.

This marble-top kitchen island is such a charming statement piece, beautifully blending classic spindle details with a timeless stone surface.

Thank you for sharing the article on preserving gourds and mini pumpkins. I just tried it.
Those cookies look delish! I would like to bake them in the kitchen you show. Very motivating for cooking. Unlike my kitchen.
I agree Rory… I’d love to bake cookies in that kitchen too.
