Come Sit By Me: Volume 97
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

We spent Labor Day weekend in Atlanta for the Baylor-Auburn game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It was technically a neutral site game, but with Atlanta being so close to Auburn, the Baylor fans were definitely outnumbered. It was a really exciting game right down to the end, when we lost by ONE point. Even with the loss, I’m feeling pretty good about this week’s game! We got to catch up with lots of Baylor friends while we were there Friday and Saturday, which is really the best part of football weekends for me.

Pregame we met up with some of them at The Varsity, an Atlanta institution. I’d been warned ahead of time that you need to know exactly what you want when you get to the counter because they will be rude if you stand there trying to decide. Getting yelled at or skipped over is all part of the “charm.” I made DOUBLE sure I had my order ready so I wouldn’t be publicly shamed over a hamburger. All I can say is the food was cheap and now I’ve done it…and probably don’t need to again.
After watching our team lose with Baylor friends who live locally, we went back to their house and watched LSU play Clemson (they also happen to be huge LSU fans). Don’t tell my sweet man, but this Louisiana girl went to bed so happy after watching LSU dominate Clemson that it pretty much made up for the Baylor loss for me.
Our friends were gracious enough to host us for the night, and since he pastors a church, we went to hear his sermon Sunday morning before we headed home. And after that fantastic Tiger win, he proudly wore his LSU polo to preach in.
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
If you like a little more color in your fall decorating, this colorful fall home tour has lots of pretty ideas. I especially like the mix of rust, blue, yellow, and green in the flowers, garlands, pillows, and other fall touches throughout the living and dining rooms.

Plaid always gets my attention this time of year, especially in blue and brown. This blue and brown plaid throw pillow has such a classic look and would be an easy way to bring a little fall into a chair, sofa, or bed without screaming fall.

Apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted pecans, and caramel frosting sound like just about everything I want in a fall dessert. This apple butter pound cake uses store-bought apple butter too, which makes the recipe a little easier.

Blue and white pottery works with just about everything, and this large painted ceramic vase has the look of a much more expensive piece. I can picture it filled with fall branches or dried hydrangeas now, but it’s definitely one you could leave out all year.

Some of my favorite fall decorations are things you can pick up at the grocery store or find right outside. These easy fall decorating ideas use flowers, apples, pumpkins, vegetables, and other natural elements to add fall color around the house without buying a bunch of seasonal decor.

What have you seen this week that you’re obsessed with? Let all of us in on it in the comments!
