Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
This week’s update is a short one because by the time you’re reading this, I’ll be heading home from an amazing week-long getaway to Arizona!

The first stop was Sedona, and oh my goodness, what a beautiful place. I stayed at this incredible boutique hotel called the Ambiente, where every room is its own little modern casita with floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of those famous red cliffs. And even better, each room has its own rooftop deck with an outdoor bed and a firepit for stargazing. I’m still not over this place.
We hiked twice the first day in Sedona and took in the gorgeous views at Doe Mountain Trail and the Birthing Cave Trail.

And then the next day it rained, which normally would be a bummer on vacation… except this time it turned into the coziest day ever. Just us, the sound of the rain, and that amazing view from the room. Heaven.
Midweek we moved on to Scottsdale and more hiking. First up was Tom’s Thumb. It was cloudy, drizzly, and you could barely see the “thumb” in the background of my photos… but of course I still took them. You’ll just have to trust me, it was magnificent.

That afternoon we hiked Camelback Mountain. The weather was finally clear, the trail was Arizona-scenic, I was having a great time—and then all of a sudden near the top it turned into actual rock climbing. I hung in there for a little bit trying to be brave, but eventually my fear of heights said “nope, you cannot do this.” So I turned around at almost the very end and did the walk of shame back down.

Not sure what our last day will bring yet, but I’m not ready to leave! (Probably another hike but now at least I’ve set expectations about my abilities, lol.)
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
If you’re looking for some inspiration to spread Christmas cheer to the kitchen, these countertop decorating ideas have loads of creative ideas from small trees and festive trays to twinkling lights and simple touches of greenery.

This pretty faux hemlock garland looks so real, you might have to touch it to believe it. The soft, natural-looking needles and warm LED lights make it perfect for draping across a mantel, stair banister, or doorway.

The best part of Thanksgiving might just be the leftovers. These turkey cranberry sliders look like the perfect way to enjoy them again, all in one cute little slider sandwich!

These velvet bow bottle ties are such an elegant way gift a bottle or dress up a holiday bar!

Here’s a cute, easy holiday idea: a nutcracker display. Nestle a nutcracker in a glass cylinder with glittering ornaments, pinecones, and greenery, for a quick Christmas tabletop decoration.

What have you seen this week that you’re obsessed with? Let all of us in on it in the comments!
