Come Sit By Me: Volume 77
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

• Update on ‘lil Bijoux from last week: Two of the products were fails… the calming lick mat mix made her throw up, and the hemp treat had her licking her legs like she was possessed for three hours—I felt terrible. (I did give her appropriate amounts for her tiny size.) The lick mat itself (with a bit of almond butter) and the rolling treat ball have been mild successes to work out some of her newfound energy, but they don’t hold her attention for as long as I had hoped. The good news is she seems to be back to acting fairly normal again, which was really the goal anyway.
• I’ve spent most of this week in full-on trip prep mode (again, yes I know). I’ve had to double down on work to get ahead, even though it feels like I just got caught up from the Vegas getaway. I’m not complaining one bit about the busyness in between trips. Life seems like one never ending vacation lately and now that I’ve been blessed with the perfect travel companion (and after having minor children my whole adult life), I’m going to enjoy every minute of it while I’m still able. Packing always stresses me out, but I’m kind of proud of myself for not waiting until the last minute this time. I recently heard that someone said the best part of a trip was the planning and the actual vacation was always a letdown—I could not disagree more because I hate the getting ready! (Maybe they just need to be traveling with different people.)
• The reason I’m even leaving again so soon is for a very dear friend’s birthday, and I’m sure this trip with my girl gang of 25+ years will be chock full of stories we’ll be telling into our old age. I sat down to write her a personal note to tell her what a difference she’s made in my life, and I cannot get through two sentences without tears.
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
There’s something so satisfying about seeing an outdated piece of furniture given new life, and the transformation of this formerly shabby chic sideboard is so fresh with the perfect green to complement a blue and white dining room.

I just got done making a Mexican street corn casserole (I’ll be sharing the recipe with you soon), and it reminded me how much I do love Mexican street corn—so now I want to try this creamy street corn pasta salad for summer.

This outdoor beach blanket could have so many uses in the coming months, and it rolls up so you can just grab it and go. Plus look at the adorable tassel trim!

This DIY above-fridge tray divider is such a smart way to make use of that awkward cabinet space above the fridge and keep baking sheets, cutting boards, and trays neat. I always love ideas like this that make the most of the space you have.

What have you seen this week that you’re obsessed with? Let all of us in on it in the comments!
Live this weekend to the fullest,💗

Kate, I really like the color of your new sideboard! It’s so pretty! So happy that little Bijoux is getting back to normal. She is such a sweet little dog and I just love the pictures of her. Have a great time away!
Thank you Mary-Ann!
Love the blue and green together. When I travel I have trouble getting everything into my quart size bag! I am using travel size products! Any tips would be great. I enjoy your blog. I’m glad to see puppy.
Thanks for the comment Rory! I don’t even try to fit all of my travel size products in a quart size bag anymore and just put them in my travel toiletry bag. I haven’t had any problems so maybe they have relaxed that airport rule.
