Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

This week’s newsletter is coming to you from Montreal! We’re here for Baylor basketball and actually it’s my first time to Canada. I’m loving everything French—the food, the architecture, and hearing people speak French everywhere.
I think my “bonjour” to our waitress at breakfast this morning came out surprisingly convincing because she immediately launched into the French. With the blank look on my face she quickly realized how American I am.

Yesterday, we took the train to Quebec City with some friends, and it was every bit as charming and French as I hoped it would be—with cobblestone streets, pretty old stone buildings, and window boxes overflowing with flowers. It felt like walking around Europe for the day.

I’m sharing just a little peek for now because I want to enjoy the trip instead of trying to recap it while I’m still in the middle of it. I’ll be sharing more about it next week. Au revoir!
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
I can’t get enough of this kitchen! The fresh green accents, classic lantern pendants, and that gorgeous patterned Roman shade create a space that feels cheerful, timeless, and full of personality.

This ottoman is one of those pieces that does double duty beautifully. I love the tailored box pleat skirt, the soft blush color, and the hidden storage that’s perfect for tucking away throws, magazines, or extra pillows while adding a touch of softness to any room.

If you need an easy comfort food dinner that the whole family will love, this Angel Chicken Rice Casserole looks like a winner. It’s creamy, hearty, and perfect for busy weeknights or taking to a friend who could use a homemade meal.

These wicker lampshades are one of those classic pieces that can work almost anywhere in your home. I love the timeless design and beautiful craftsmanship, making it easy to mix with traditional, cottage, or coastal decorating for a look you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Sometimes the simplest decorating tools make the biggest difference. This article shares one easy trick designers use to add warmth, texture, and personality to a room, and once you see it, you’ll start noticing it in beautiful homes everywhere.

How nice that you are touring in Canada, Kate! We absolutely love Quebec city! We have been there several times. There is so much to see and do — and the French restaurants are fabulous! Enjoy your time there!
Thanks Mary-Ann! It was so charming…we had a great time.
