Come Sit By Me: Volume 72
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

• I feel like we’ve had weather whiplash this week. I think it went down to freezing on Monday and now it’s supposed to be in the nineties this weekend. Who even knows what to put on in the morning anymore… shorts or a winter sweater?
• I’m fully embracing the time change. I love that it stays light later, and I truly do not care that it’s darker in the morning because it’s always dark when I wake up anyway. No downside for me.
• I had two different dinners with friends this week—one with the neighborhood ladies group and one with a couple of girlfriends who are going through some major life transitions, both totally different, and so much I needed to be caught up on.
• I had one of those “am I becoming my mother” realizations. I used to think it was so weird that older women went to the beauty parlor once a week to get their hair done and teased up big. And now I’m embracing the fact that most of the time I can get away with only washing my hair once a week. Also realizing that short, teased hairstyle wasn’t just for the look… now I understand the reason was because at this age, our once full hair is becoming more painfully thin by the year. 😢
• A friend turned me on to the song “That’s Where I Find God” by Larry Fleet and I’ve had it on repeat ever since. Such good lyrics. Also learned that my sweet guy who grew up in the Northeast had no idea what an Evinrude was, lol.
• I’m looking forward to a getaway to Broken Bow, Oklahoma this weekend (empty nester spring break?). We’re staying in a cozy cabin and planning lots of time outside in nature on what promises to be a beautiful spring weekend. I’ve never been, so I’m excited to see what it’s like.
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This sweet Peter Rabbit-inspired table has all those soft spring colors and little nostalgic touches that just make me smile. It feels a little storybook-ish without being over the top, and it would be so pretty for Easter or any spring get-together.

These classic blue and white ginger jars are one of those pieces that never go out of style. They add such an elegant, collected feel to a shelf, mantel, or table, and the soft French blue is just beautiful for spring and beyond.

These Greek potatoes are the kind of side dish that could beautifully pair with just about anything. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of bright lemon flavor.

This lamp from Ballard Designs has such a classic, tailored look that feels right at home in just about any space. The clean lines paired with that timeless shade make it a piece you could keep for years, whether it’s on a buffet, console, or bedside table.

There’s something so special about the simple touches that make a home feel warm and welcoming, and these DIY stenciled tea towels are just that. They feel thoughtful and beautifully handmade, and they’re a sweet way to add a little personality to your kitchen or give a gift.

Kate, I really enjoyed your post! That Greek Potato recipe looks so yummy and I am going to make it next week. I loved that song, too. Now your “sweet guy” will know what an Evinrude motor is! Also, how nice that you could be there for your 2 friends who are going through some difficult times right now. You are “the perfect” person as you have gone through horrible times and have come out “happily” on the other side. Hope you have a wonderful weekend away!
Awwww….thank you for your sweet comment Mary-Ann!! I always love the positivity that you share here and know that you must be a light to everyone in your life. 💗
