Come Sit By Me: Volume 83
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

- This week I checked off some tasks that I’ve been continually dragging over to “next week” on my calendar and I can’t tell you how satisfying it’s been! As much as I love vacations and having fun things to do, there’s something about getting back into a routine that feels just as good. For the first time in a while I wasn’t behind, rushed, or working to get ahead before the next trip. Let me soak it in this week, because I already have more summer plans coming up, but I’m enjoying this feeling of being on top of things while it lasts.
- One unexpected item on this week’s to-do list was buying a new television after my old one finally died. I realized this is the first TV I’ve ever purchased on my own, which I’m pretty sure by my age everyone else has done many times. Since it was all up to me, and I figured any TV that’s 15 years newer than my old one would probably look much better, I only spent about 30 minutes researching on my computer, ordered it from Amazon, it showed up the next day, and I never stepped foot in a store. I know a lot of people spend hours comparing features and standing in Best Buy staring at rows of screens trying to decide which one is best. I just wanted to fit the hole in the entertainment center and stay within a certain budget. That’s my new purchase in the photo above (with a little landscape artwork from YouTube so I wouldn’t be showing you a big black rectangle). I do love that it actually fills the opening in the entertainment center now!
- The week also had some more enjoyable moments… I got to celebrate a milestone birthday with one of my girlfriends. While I still hold the title of oldest in the group, it’s always nice when a few more friends start catching up.
- I also worked on a fun cocktail recipe with summer berries that will be on the blog Monday. Taste testing is a tough job, but someone has to do it.😊

This ottoman has such a relaxed, collected look and would work beautifully in a living room, sunroom, or even tucked under a console table. I love pieces like this that add texture and warmth.

This orzo pasta salad looks like the perfect dish for all summer long, with feta, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh Mediterranean flavors in every bite,

This personalized night light is such a sweet personalized gift for a nursery or girl’s room. I’m always a sucker for a preppy monogram.
