Come Sit By Me: Volume 90
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

- It is hot as all get out here this week! As I write this, I’m currently enjoying a cool, air-conditioned afternoon working in my office while it’s a “feels like” 111 degrees outside. I went out to water my pots a few minutes ago and felt like I’d spent 15 minutes in an oven. It’s that point in summer when anything outdoors has to happen before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m.
- This week also marks five years since I hit publish on Southern Home and Hospitality. Five years! I can barely even remember what it was like not to have this little passion project that’s become such a big part of my life.
- Looking back, it’s wild to think about how much has changed in that short amount of time—not just on the blog, but in my own life. After hundreds of posts and countless hours, this hobby that I started at my laundry room desk turned into a legitimate business that pays my bills and keeps Bijoux in dog biscuits. I’m incredibly grateful that I get to wake up every day and work on something I love.
- Most of all, I’m thankful you’re here. Whether you’ve been reading since the beginning or just found me recently, thanks for spending a little time with me each week. It still amazes me that something I started five years ago as an experiment has connected me to so many wonderful people.💗
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
I can’t get enough of this kitchen! The fresh green accents, classic lantern pendants, and that gorgeous patterned Roman shade create a space that feels cheerful, timeless, and full of personality. It’s such beautiful inspiration if you’re looking to bring a little color and charm into your own home.

This ottoman is one of those pieces that does double duty beautifully. I love the tailored box pleat skirt, the soft blush color, and the hidden storage that’s perfect for tucking away throws, magazines, or extra pillows while adding a touch of charm to any room.

If you need an easy comfort food dinner that the whole family will love, this Angel Chicken Rice Casserole looks like a winner. It’s creamy, hearty, and perfect for busy weeknights or taking to a friend who could use a homemade meal.

These wicker lampshades are one of those classic pieces that can work almost anywhere in your home. I love the timeless design and beautiful craftsmanship, making it easy to mix with traditional, cottage, or coastal decorating for a look you’ll enjoy for years to come.

Sometimes the simplest decorating tools make the biggest difference. This article shares one easy trick designers use to add warmth, texture, and personality to a room, and once you see it, you’ll start noticing it in beautiful homes everywhere.
