Come Sit By Me: Volume 64
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
It feels like no matter where you live this week, the big news has been the impending weather. Ice. Snow. Sleet. The whole apocalyptic winter trifecta that sends us all scrambling to the grocery store for milk, bread, and chili fixings like it’s end of days.
We’ve been in Waco this week to attend a couple of Baylor basketball games. Since the game on Saturday wasn’t postponed, we decided to hunker down here and ride out the weather.

There are worse places to be stuck—we can actually walk to the game so I’m feeling grateful to be able to get out and do something fun instead of being completely stuck inside for two days. Between the basketball season not going well so far and the icy roads, we might be some of the only fans who make it to cheer them on.
Because Texas is Texas, the beginning of the week was quite pleasant for January before all of this. I was able to get in my outside walks around campus, try a couple of new restaurants, and enjoy dinners with friends. Now it’s going to be lots of alone-together time, books, and puzzles. Fingers crossed that the power stays on, because if it doesn’t, I guess I’ll be wearing every piece of clothing I brought and calling it a night at sundown.
I hope all of you affected stay warm, avoid any storm damage, and enjoy the cozy downtime!
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This inspiring Palm Beach design roundup from Flower Magazine is a lovely reminder that classic style never goes out of fashion and that great design always tells a story.

This cordless brass table lamp is one of those inexpensive little decor touches that goes almost anywhere, and works beautifully even when the power goes out. I love decor that’s both pretty and prepared.

These fresh vegetable tortilla roll ups are a lovely reminder that the simplest, most familiar recipes are often the ones everyone reaches for first. They’re light, colorful, and perfect for entertaining, whether you’re hosting a luncheon or bringing a dish to share.

This is the kind of cozy wool blanket made for this weather that you’ll be able to use year after year. The classic color combination and L.L.Bean quality make it perfect for chilly nights, guest rooms, or keeping close by for comfy evenings at home.

Curling rug corners are one of those little things that can make a room feel unfinished (and can also drive your OCD nuts), but thankfully there’s an easy, old-fashioned fix. This simple, practical tip helps rugs lay flat again so your space looks neat and is safe to walk through.
