Come Sit By Me: Volume 45
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- The weather here has been absolutely beautiful!! Even though it’s still warm, I can feel that slightest hint of the shift to the new season and I’m noticing the shorter daylight hours. I didn’t meet my goal of finishing my fall decorating this week, but I’m doing some here and there. I have to wrap it up in the next few days so I’ll be ready to share the changes with you a week from Monday, so that should get me into gear to get it done.

- I wanted to share something that touched me this week. A kind reader emailed me after coming across the Christmas Day message I sent out last year, and her sweet comment reminded me why I love writing this blog so much:
“Tonight I was thinking about preparing for Christmas and decided to review a Christmas decoration file that I set up on my phone. I came across your beautiful Christmas message from last Christmas and I am still touched by it. People like you, with a loving kindness and the ability to express that kindness in words of encouragement need to have a blog. I know this blog may seem like a burden at times. Know that you are helping people with your work. I certainly love getting to read it and see your current decorations for your home. Just wanted you to know—Your friend through the blog, Mary Catherine Bailey”
Although I don’t know how much I’m “helping” people, it makes me feel good that my Christmas message hit home with at least one person. Her thoughtful email was such a sweet reminder that the words we put into the world can ripple out in ways we may never expect. Sure, it’s easy for me to get caught up in projects and deadlines for my business, but comments like this remind me that the real gift of this blog is the connection it creates with wonderful people so far away that I will never meet.
I’m not trying to stress anyone out by mentioning Christmas this early (even though it will be here before we know it 😬). But since Mary Catherine’s note made me go back and reread the email she was talking about, I thought I’d share it again here, because I feel this same gratitude and good wishes for you all year long!💗
Merry Christmas Sweet Friend!
As we celebrate this special day, my heart is full of gratitude to you for supporting my blog and sharing this journey with me.
For me, the joy of Christmas isn’t just about the delicious food and the decor (though we know I love that too!). It’s the love shared around a table, the laughs with family and friends, and the quiet, reflective moments by the tree at night.
Because today is about more than the gifts. It’s a day to celebrate the most precious gift of all—the birth of Christ and the hope and love it symbolizes for all of us.
Whatever your Christmas Day might look like, I hope that you find a moment to pause and simply soak in the beauty of the season, whether you’re surrounded by the people you love, grieving someone not with you, or just enjoying a peaceful day in your own company.
Thank you for gifting me some of your precious free time this year. Your emails, comments, and support are the greatest gift, and they mean the world to me. You’re the reason I love doing what I do, and I treasure this community more than words can say. May you carry all the peace and joy of this day into the new year with you. 💗
Wishing you the merriest Christmas and every blessing in the year ahead,
Kate
