Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

I’m kicking off this long holiday weekend feeling extra grateful for good friends, good food, and a few moments of total relaxation.
Last weekend, I had the absolute joy of spending time at my girlfriend’s dreamy lake house in Austin. It’s more like a luxury resort than a lake house—and even has a lazy river that overlooks Lake Travis. I didn’t know I needed a lazy river as an adult until I floated in it for hours last summer with an adult beverage in hand and no little kids splashing me in the face.

The whole weekend was catered, we had bartenders, blackjack and craps tables, and even a musician for a few hours. This family doesn’t mess around when it comes to entertaining! We didn’t take any photos of our group but this one, and our host friends aren’t even it😬:

Back home, I met a couple of other friends for a Monday night dinner to catch up at Rise, a new French souffle restaurant I’d been curious about. It was good, but I think I’ve decided I’m not really a souffle person. I did love all the Frenchy little details though!

As I’m writing this on Friday morning, I’m looking forward to celebrating the Fourth later today with a pool party at another friend’s gorgeous home. But first I’m crossing off the to-do list so I can fully unplug and enjoy the rest of the holiday. Hope you’re finding a fun and festive way to beat the heat too!
