Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- This week I’ve been planning a Christmas party on Sunday at my house for my girlfriends I’ve known for 25 years. Having them all over at once will really make my new house feel like home.💗 I also went to another good girlfriends group party on Thursday where we do a white elephant gift exchange and the gift stealing is ruthless. I’m glad I like the Christmas edition Stanley cup I brought in “scarlet tinsel” because I was stolen from (the last of several times) on the final turn and ended up with my own gift!

- I’m also trying to knock out my Christmas shopping. The easy ones are ordered, but I hit the mall for a couple of things, and to get some inspiration. I guess it’s been a while since I’ve shopped for clothes at a mall, because apparently now the new thing is self service checkout. You place all the items at once in a hole in the counter (someone next to me had to explain that to me as I stood there clueless) and it instantly rings them all up like magic.

- I got my new chandelier for the kitchen installed and I think it’s a winner.💗 I need your opinion on the height—I like my chandeliers to hang on the low side of the correct height range above the table. Should I order an additional rod? If I”m able to get another short one it would drop it down six inches, but then it’s only 32 inches above the table.
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This is one pretty Christmas kitchen. So many pretty green and white holiday decor ideas to choose from.

This wrapping paper set is just beautiful. I love the colors and the design. Those pink trees are fabulous!

If you enjoy a Christmas morning cocktail, be sure to check out this recipe for Christmas morning punch. Yum!

This custom watercolor house painting would make the most thoughtful gift. Who wouldn’t want this?! Just send them a picture and they will hand paint the house. It isn’t cheap, but what a treasure.

What have you seen this week that you’re obsessed with? Let all of us in on it in the comments!

Thanks Kate for your ideas. Regarding your chandler- I like the way it is -simple but very elegant. I think by adding one more rod will take from the look of the room. (My opinion)
As a Yorkie mom – I love when you include your baby in the pictures ❤️
Merry Christmas 🎄
My friends agreed with you on the chandelier and I think you’re right—thanks for taking the time to answer. Aren’t yorkies the best?? I feel like I put her in too many room tours, but she has to earn her keep around here!
There is a recall on Stanley cups! Google it! Something about the lid coming off and burning you! Anne
I just saw that! I need to look that up even though I only use mine for water I still don’t want 40 ounces of water to spill everywhere!
