Come Sit By Me: Volume 1
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to the first edition of “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
After I decided to create this weekly recap, it needed a name. I don’t know why, but while thinking about our virtual friend time together, a line from “Steel Magnolias” popped into my head:

It’s one of my favorite movies and don’t even get me started quoting from it (her signature culluhs are pank and pank). We won’t talk ugly like this here, but we will dish about the “nicer” kind of things we might have talked about in that small town beauty parlor with our big hair back in the eighties.
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- After being rescheduled twice over the last year, I finally got to see Pink in concert for the first time. How many artists can sing while twirling upside down from the ceiling of a mega stadium? Her voice, her acrobatics, and the entire show was phenomenal. Girl, you are a rock star with the rock moves.

- Did you know that rats like birdseed? I did not. And never will I ever store it just its bag again.😱 After recovering from my near heart attack after running into one in the garage the other night, I put on my big girl panties the next day and cleaned the mess of birdseed, mulch, and rat turds it had made. The birdseed is now in a non-chewable container and I set out a trap with peanut butter. It’s untouched so far, so fingers crossed it’s moved on.
- I turned on my heat for the first time this week. There’s just something about that first time of the season with its slight burning smell and cozy warmth that I always look forward to.

- I’m deep in the middle of Christmas decorating and my house is a wreck with plastic bins, greenery tidbits, and glitter everywhere. It may seem early to you, but after my extremely difficult, life-changing, world-rocking year, I’m more than ready for the joy and peace of Christmas around here. (BTW I always begin now to have time to share holiday content with you but this year it doesn’t even feel weirdly too soon.)
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This elegant blue and whiite Christmas kitchen is making me SO excited for the upcoming holidays.

Have you ever used a live Christmas wreath? This Cedar Berry Eucalyptus Wreath is absolutely gorgeous.

These pecan pie brownies look incredible and would be a delicious Thanksgiving dessert.

Need a new table runner for your dining table? This affordable cotton textured runner can be used all through the holidays and it’s a great length, too.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that when they come together are so beautiful. This Thanksgiving table is stunning.
