Come Sit By Me: Volume 36
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- This view in my office includes my keyboard, a notebook, and… a frosty watermelon slushie with a splash of something fun?? It’s recipe testing, I promise. I don’t usually day drink alone at home, but this is technically research (tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.) I was experimenting with ingredients and ratios this day to write a recipe post coming your way next week. Spoiler alert: it’s delicious and in my mind, healthy too!

- Did you find any great deals during Prime Day? I didn’t go too wild, but I did restock some of my “buy again” staples and it felt great to add up everything I saved. I also bought a new clothes steamer I’m weirdly excited to use, and a couple of things for my home I’ll report back on once they arrive.
- It was hard not to feel a heavy heart over the devastating floods that hit central Texas. So many lives and homes have been lost, but the tragedy at Camp Mystic has especially shaken our state. Stories like this hit hard, especially in the middle of what should be a carefree season. This Facebook post about the young girls at that Christian camp makes me choke up every time I read it:

- On a lighter note, July 4th always feels like a marker that we’re halfway through the year—and halfway through summer. School supplies have already appeared at Walmart and fall has come to the front of Hobby Lobby. While Christmas might be my favorite holiday, I’m in no hurry to get there. Summer is my favorite season and we should still act like we have half of it left!
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
If you love homes with personality and soul, you’ll adore this stunning South Carolina house tour. It’s an eclectic, maximalist dream — layered, colorful, and full of treasures that tell a story in every corner.

There’s nothing quite like fresh flowers to brighten a room, and this small, simple, classic ribbed glass vase is great for any space or occasion.

There’s nothing better than an easy, one-pan meal . This summer sausage skillet with andouille sausage is hearty, full of flavor, and comes together in no time.

This sleek and elegant pharmacy floor lamp adds a timeless touch to any cozy corner. I love its warm antique brass finish and how easy it is to adjust for reading or relaxing.

If you’ve been wanting to add a soft, tailored touch to your kitchen or bathroom windows, this easy faux Roman shade looks like a simple DIY that requires no sewing.
