Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- This week didn’t come with any big events, but somehow it’s been very busy. I’ve been working ahead because I’m about to take for my first-ever trip to Europe! I’ll be going to London and Paris with my besties of 25 years. I’m so excited… but the packing part? Not so much. Even though I’m a planner to my core, I’ve been doing everything I can to put off getting my stuff together. I think it’s because the idea of packing for a trip this long and the various special things you have to take has felt a little overwhelming. Now I’m mad at myself because of everything I have left to do before I leave.

- In other news, my sweet pup Bijoux turned seven this week. I can’t believe she’s officially middle-aged. The little black furball puppy it seems like I brought home just yesterday has turned into this blonde cutie pie, and she’s been through so much life with me. Is your dog’s birthday even on your radar? (No judgment if not—I only remembered because my calendar reminded me.)
- I finally hung some long-overdue family photos in the hallway that had been sitting blank since last summer. And I set up my new digital frame that now flashes happy little memories at me all day. It’s funny how seeing those faces and moments makes the house feel like home.💗

This stunning home tour is southern charm at its finest—elegant, layered, and full of personality. From the moody blues to the classic details and collected decor, every room feels curated and welcoming.

These Sunwashed Riviera Rattan Dining Chairs from Serena & Lily are coastal elegance in chair form! I love the relaxed, sun-kissed finish paired with the timeless French bistro silhouette—they’re perfect for casual meals that still feel special.

If you love a beautiful board and bold Italian flavors, this antipasto salad platter is such a showstopper! It’s full of savory bites—cheese, cured meats, olives, and fresh veggies.

This gorgeous coffee table book, Super Bloom: A Field Guide to Flowers for Every Gardener, is as inspiring as it is beautiful, with dreamy photography and flower-filled wisdom.

These no-bake key lime cheesecake jars are the perfect mix of creamy, tangy, and sweet—like summer in a dessert cup!

Kate, I am so happy that you are going on a trip to London and Paris with your friends! You will have a great time! Such a cute picture of your little Bijoux.
Thank you so much Mary-Ann—I’m so excited to go!!!
Happy birthday to your little baby! Yes, we actually have little private birthday celebrations for our fur babies. 🎉 😂 Most of ours have been rescues, so dates are estimated by the vet. We also document the Got Cha Day! ❤️ Have a great time in Europe!
Thanks Susan! This is my first pet as an adult I’ve gotten as a puppy from a breeder so we’ve celebrated the adoption day for all of our others. I wouldn’t say it’s much of a celebration except to tell them happy birthday and maybe give them an extra treat. 😂
