Come Sit By Me: Volume 104
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- Happy Halloween! 🎃 I can’t believe Halloween actually falls on a Saturday this year, and I don’t have a single party to go to or a costume to wear. I love dressing up for Halloween, so this seems like such a wasted opportunity. I know a lot of people hate being forced to dress up, but I think it makes everyone more fun…especially those people. Speaking of reluctant costume wearers, I’m bringing back this old picture of Bijoux as a hot dog. As you can see, she was not nearly as enthusiastic about dressing up as I am!

- Fall has already officially left the building at my house. I’ve gotten all the pumpkins and fall decorations packed away and put up both Christmas trees. They’re completely naked right now, but at least they’re standing! I’m hoping to get started on decorating them this weekend. Yes I know it’s only Halloween, but when you write holiday blog posts, that’s just the way the timing works. I love Christmas, so I don’t mind a bit!
- We’ve had some perfect October weather this week, so my group of girlfriends got together on one of their patios instead of our usual restaurant meeting. We spent the evening just sitting outside, talking, and catching up. These are the evenings that make me wish October in Texas lasted a whole lot longer.
- I’ve been working on getting my work and personal calendars organized for the rest of the year, and I’m already a little overwhelmed just looking at them. Between blog work, holiday preparations, and trips to football and basketball games, I’m not sure how I’m going to fit everything in. So I’m actually pretty happy to have this quiet weekend at home. I hope you have some fun Halloween plans, or get to enjoy a little downtime too!
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
There’s something extra special about a beautiful table set outdoors, especially in the fall. This elegant Thanksgiving table combines equestrian-inspired plates, sage green napkins, natural textures, and traditional touches like pheasants and fall foliage. Such a pretty setting for a holiday gathering!

These antique brass bells have that wonderful aged look that makes them seem like a vintage find. I think they’d be so pretty hanging from a wreath with velvet ribbon, tucked into Christmas greenery, or even displayed on a stack of books. They’re the kind of Christmas decoration you could use in a different way every year.

These bacon-wrapped dates with goat cheese and hot honey have everything going for them—sweet, salty, creamy, and a little spicy. With just a few ingredients and the option to make them ahead, they’d be a great appetizer for holiday entertaining.

You know I’m always drawn to blue and green, and this blue and green floral serving bowl is right up my alley. It would be beautiful on a holiday table filled with a favorite side dish, but it’s also pretty enough to leave out year-round with fresh fruit or just on its own.

I always enjoy seeing how other people decorate for Christmas, and this peek at a beautifully decorated home has plenty of inspiration. The velvet ribbons, greenery, wicker, and mix of soft colors make everything feel festive without being overly traditional.
