Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
Following my big trip to Europe, I’m slowly settling back into regular life, tackling all of the little tasks that I put off until after vacation. It felt good to get back into my exercise routine, but let me tell you my body reminded me real quick what it feels like to take a break from moving—I was so sore after the first class! I just know if I don’t exercise regularly, everything in my body starts hurting all the time. Thankfully, I was able to keep up with my goal of walking 10,000 steps a day in London and Paris (we hit 21,000 one day). I wore the same pair of Nike platform sneakers the whole time and my girlfriends made fun of them for looking “orthotic”—but my feet never hurt once, so I didn’t even care.🤓

My home came with a raised bed in the backyard, so I planted some veggies and herbs a couple of months ago and now they’re really doing their thing. I don’t know how much of it I can actually eat, but I find growing them so satisfying. I pulled the most monstrous zucchini this week (yes, good material for some off-color jokes). I don’t even know if this photo does it justice:

Clearly I waited too long, but I’m new to this and didn’t know it might stop producing if I didn’t pick them sooner. And my cucumber plant is growing like wildfire and quite prolific. If you’ve got favorite ways to use up a ton of cucumbers (besides just slicing them into a salad), please send them my way!

If you’ve ever wondered whether grasscloth wallpaper is still in style, this article has all the answers. Spoiler alert: it’s a classic that keeps evolving—perfect for adding texture, warmth, and sophistication to just about any room.

This blue and white pillow is the definition of timeless charm! I love how the delicate floral pattern adds just the right touch of cottage elegance—so pretty layered on a neutral sofa or tucked into a cozy reading chair.

This primavera baked Boursin pasta is going straight to the top of my must-make list! It’s creamy, colorful, full of fresh veggies, and looks easy to put together.

These neutral decorative stacked books are perfect decorating tools for shelves or a coffee table—without having to hunt through thrift stores for the right color covers.

This no-bake lemon posset is pure sunshine in a dish, yet so simple. It’s one of those elegant desserts that feels fancy but takes hardly any effort (my favorite kind!).
