Come Sit By Me: Volume 2
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- What’s been going on here this week? Christmas decorating pretty much sums it up. I’ll be sharing the tour with you next week and I can’t wait! Here’s a little sneak peek:

- Now that I’m decorated (mostly), I can’t wait to snuggle in and watch my favorite Christmas movies. I’ve already rewatched “Holidate” for probably the tenth time. On my list of must-watches every holiday season are Home Alone, Christmas Vacation, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Holiday, and Love Actually.
- I also just finished the Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix. The amount of things she can get done and at the highest level has always inspired me. I’ve always admired her drive, her success (she was the first female self made billionare), and her need to make everything better. She paved the way for people like me to think it’s okay to make a business out of homemaking, which is about as far from business-like as you can get. I loved her show and magazine back in the day, and even her K Mart line. But boy, she does not come off well in this movie. It portrays her as cold and someone you do not want to work for. Does she still inspire me and will I still watch her? Absolutely, because those things have nothing to do with why I like her. (But she’d probably make me cry if I was one of her employees😂)
- Unfortunately, I’m still on rat patrol. After reporting the rat was gone last week because it never touched the trap, I ran into it in the garage again Monday night. The pest company is here closing up the gaps around my garage door and setting traps as I write this. I sure wish the exterminator had not pointed out all of the rat evidence out there. I feel like I’m going to have to scrub the garage and everything in it with bleach.
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
When it comes to Christmas mantels, this mantel is beyond pretty and really so simple.

This traditional faux garland is so pretty and it is only $15 this week. What a steal!

Need a great batch holiday cocktail? Try out Mrs. Clause’s Winter Cosmo for a fun and festive drink.

I am in love with this gorgeous cream velvet Christmas stocking. Just look at those details.

This holiday home tour isn’t new, but it’s still one of my all-time favorites!

What have you seen this week that you’re obsessed with? Let all of us in on it in the comments!
Live this weekend to the fullest,💗

Before you go:
As always, I appreciate your visit, comments, and shares here on the blog! I’d love it if you also follow along with me on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube so you won’t miss any of my inspiration and ideas.
Kate, I just love reading your blog. I’m a Southern gal myself, from Kentucky. I love your “ Come sit with me “ It reminds me of sitting on the porch with my grandmother breaking beans and talking for hours. She taught me everything about hospitality. She was an icon in our town. They’ve even named a restaurant after her. I’m excited to see your new house all decorated.
Thank you for those sweet words Sarah! Your grandmother sounds like the most special lady and you are so lucky to have those memories. I do remember shelling purple hull peas a few times growing up and I’d totally forgotten about that!
can’t wait to see your new home decorated for Cristmas.
I can’t wait to share it with you! Look out for it on Wednesday…
Oh yes, I would love to come sit with you!! Your decorations are always spectacular!!!
Thanks and I’d love that too!
I’m jealous that you’ve finished decorating! I’m just now getting started! I can’t wait to see your new home ready for Christmas!
The only reason I’m probably done is I had a blog hop deadline but it feels great to have it out and all the bins and mess cleaned up!
