Come Sit By Me: Volume 67
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

- The geese, ducks, and turtles at the neighborhood pond were out in full force this week, and I felt right there with them—just soaking up the sunshine like we were all coming out of hibernation for spring. Getting back to my regular walks has done wonders for my mood and energy!
- We went to a Super Bowl party last Sunday, and I don’t think I watched five minutes of the game. I usually don’t have a team to pull for anyway, so I’m mostly there for my favorite part—the snacks and the catching up.
- I was especially grateful to see a friend there before his 10-hour surgery this week to remove a brain tumor the size of a lemon (benign, thank goodness). His wife is a close friend of mine, and they’ve both been on my mind constantly. Their support system of friends is incredible—our text group for updates is even called “Mike’s Cheerleaders“. And he was a rockstar. He went home less than 48 hours after they closed his head back up and was reportedly cracking jokes the very night of the surgery. The whole thing feels like a reminder not to take our days for granted.
- We have a nice romantic Valentine’s dinner out planned for Friday to avoid the Valentine’s Day crowd, and I’m really looking forward to it. I hope however you’re spending the day today whether it’s with a romantic partner, a friend, your kids, or just a good takeout order and Netflix, it feels a little special.💗
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
Soft layers, coastal calm, and a beautifully balanced mix of pattern and texture give this James Island home such a dreamy, calming feel.

A glazed berry colander like this feels both useful and beautiful, perfect for everyday prep or leaving out on the counter.

With tender chicken, fresh herbs, and bright lemon rice, Greek Chicken and Lemon Rice is one of those meals that’s both fresh and comforting at the same time.

Soft watercolor monograms like this add a sweet, subtle, personal touch to a nursery, children’s room or office space.

I’ve always loved the classic look of interior trellis woodwork, and this post is full of inspirational photo examples of it used in gorgeous rooms.

Kate, hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s dinner last night. We always go out on the evening before Valentine’s for dinner as restaurants are less rushed and less crowded and you don’t feel like you have to eat and run. Our restaurants here are starting to advertise dinners for the 2 days. Plus, the prices seem to be a little more expensive on Valentine’s day. Have a wonderful weekend, Kate!
So happy your friend had a successful surgery! All your collective prayers helped.
And I’m trying that Greek chicken and lemon rice recipe this week! Looks simple & delicious!
