Come Sit By Me: Volume 40
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

- One of my girlfriends is building a new house and asked me to go to the design center with her and her husband to help them make their selections. We spent Sunday afternoon picking out everything from counters and cabinets to tile, wood flooring, and backsplashes. They thanked me several times for the help, but really I had so much fun doing it that it didn’t seem like much of a favor. It’s actually easy to make decor choices when it’s not your money and you don’t have the fear of living with a wrong decision. No stress, just playtime in the design sandbox.😂
- Maybe it’s just me, but all the back-to-school business everywhere has me feeling a need to reset and get organized, even though I don’t have anyone to get ready to go back to school. Do you ever feel that same way this time of year? I’ve noticed it ever since my youngest graduated and thought it was odd that I still get that little hint of excitement about a fresh new school year. It’s what inspired me this week for next Monday’s post—it’s about how to recreate that back-to-school feeling as a grown-up with fresh routines, little resets around the house, and a dose of that hopeful, anything’s-possible mindset we used to get from a new Trapper Keeper and a first day outfit.
- Last night a few friends and I had an impromptu happy hour at one of their houses which is always fun, and we’re guaranteed to talk about the widest variety of things. Last night it was all over the place—laughing about past girls’ trips, discussing health issues and cryotherapy (which I can’t do thanks to having Raynaud’s), and even attempting that viral longevity test where you sit cross-legged and stand up without using your hands. I can do this, which I’m feeling pretty good about at my age!
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This kitchen is pure luxury layered with character! Every detail feels intentional and elevated. I love the contrast of the cabinets with the honed black counters and vent hood—and the rich brass and copper accents bring warmth to the space. It’s classic, but not the least bit boring.

These Thibaut Tybee Tree panels add the perfect finishing touch to this blue and green space. Classic, tailored, and just a little bit playful.

If you’re in the mood for something sweet from an unexpected chef, this post has the recipe and a full review of Snoop Dogg’s peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Spoiler alert—they got a rave review.

This wood and rattan accent cabinet is such a versatile piece with its warm finish, woven texture doors, and compact size. It could be perfect for an entryway, dining nook, or even extra bathroom storage where you don’t have much space.

This dreamy soft blue wallpaper feels like a gentle watercolor painting brought to life! And if you’re looking for a sweet DIY touch, the ball trim mirror idea in this post is the perfect way to add charm to a builder-grade bathroom without spending a lot.
