Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

I spent most of the week at a blog retreat in Isle of Palms, South Carolina in a house overlooking the ocean, and I’m feeling so grateful that I went. This was my third year with this group of amazing ladies and every time we just pick right back up like no time has passed, even though we really only see each other in person once a year.

We learned, talked through goals, cut up a lot, and had conversations that only happen when you’re with women. And even better, women who “get” what you do. That part probably means more to me than I realize until I’m there.

As a surprise added bonus, I got to do something I love but never have time for at this retreat. On the way to the airport, three of us walked around historic Old Village in Mount Pleasant. We gawked at gorgeous Southern-style homes on quiet streets near the water, lined with huge moss-draped oak trees. We ended up in their charming “main street” area for coffee and joked that we felt like we were on the set for either a Hallmark movie or Netflix series set in an idyllic Southern town.
I’m back home now, tired yet reenergized, refocused, and super excited to get after some blog work with everything I learned and a fresh perspective!
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This living room is a beautiful example of how classic design and rich color can come together in a way that feels both vibrant and timeless. The mix of blues and greens, paired with traditional furnishings, creates a space that feels gracious, welcoming, and meant to be enjoyed every day. It’s the kind of room that never chases trends and always feels just right.

There’s something wonderfully comforting about a beautiful candle that looks just as lovely unlit as it does glowing in the evening. The soft green glass and warm, woody scent feels calming, a simple pleasure that quietly adds atmosphere to a room.

This beef tenderloin is the kind of classic, special-occasion recipe that feels just right for Sunday dinner, holiday gatherings, or anytime you want to serve something special that tastes like a million bucks.

These scalloped mixing bowls feel like the kind of kitchen pieces you’d pass down through the years. The soft colors and classic shape make them pretty enough to leave out on the counter, yet sturdy and practical for everyday cooking and baking.

If you love built-in bookshelves, these styling tips are worth a look. They focus on mixing books and decor in a way that feels natural and lived-in, not overdone.
