Come Sit By Me: Volume 61
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
Why end a hot streak of being away from home? After returning from Christmas with family, I had one day before I packed back up and headed to Waco for a couple of days. The main reason was for a Baylor basketball game, and we were lucky enough to sit in a friend’s courtside seats. It was my first time watching from this vantage point and even though the regular seats we sit in are really good, I’m afraid I’ve been spoiled—it’s so immersive to be right there, see the players’ expressions, and hear what they’re saying!

Now that I’m finally home again, I’m trying to make a plan for all of the things I’ve put off doing until “after the holidays.” I always feel more motivated at the start of a new year, and right now I’m making my list of goals for what I’d like to get done or improve in 2026. Some for my health, some for my mental and spiritual well-being, and some just to-do’s. I’m hoping having it all in writing will help me stay accountable and actually get a lot of it done by this time next year.

I ended 2025 with a good time at a NYE party where I made some new friends, and still managed to be home by midnight. The only regret is that I probably would’ve enjoyed New Year’s Day a little more if I’d had one less drink the night before. Getting out of bed on January 1st was a little harder than I wanted, which isn’t exactly the way I was hoping to start the new year. So one thing I’m adding to my 2026 goal list is this: 1–2 drinks most of the time, with three being the max. Not only will it be better for my health, but I’ll have more energy the next day to accomplish the other things!

This little corner is such a lovely reminder of how timeless blue and white can be, yet fresh at the same time,

These faux fur throws deserve every bit of praise they get. Soft, luxe, and wonderfully warm, they make winter nesting a real treat.

This white bean soup with bacon is the kind of hearty, comforting dish that warms you right through on a cold winter day.

And speaking of soup, these classic handled soup bowls are perfect for those hearty winter recipes we all love to make this time of year.

I love to see how other people go about storing their seasonal decor and this thoughtful guide to organizing seasonal decorations offers some helpful tips good for all seasons. A great read if you’ve got the new year’s organizing bug.
