Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
I attended the cutest, most clever Mama Mia-themed baby shower last weekend for the daughter one of my friends. You know I love a good theme party, and my first-ever Mama Mia themed get together did not disappoint! Picture Abba playing in the background and disco balls and explosions of color everywhere. We all showed up dressed the part in everything from breezy Mediterranean to rocking a ’70s vibe. Here are some of my mom friends along with the young mama-to-be:

I even walked away with the prize for guessing her belly size spot-on with a ribbon (a pretty useless skill I never knew I had).
So many fun touches—disco balls sparkled everywhere and we had signature cocktails with names like “The Caroline Harping” and “the “The Theodore Mark”. I don’t know if I’ve ever actually seen the movie all the way through, but now I’m in the mood to go back and watch it!

Later in the week, I joined a group of friends for a pre-movie happy hour at one of their homes where we caught up and ogled over her newly remodeled kitchen. After, we all went to see the new Jurassic World movie. It was pretty much just what I expected—lots of running, roaring, and people eating. Not the best movie, but there’s just something about seeing a movie in the theater during the summer that I love. And one of our friends is always guaranteed to scream and punch the friend next to her if there’s ever a moment that makes you jump in a movie—so all the surprise dinosaur attacks definitely made the movie more entertaining for us!
Words to Get Through the Week.

This powder room is proof that even the smallest spaces can make a big impact. The cheerful green patterned wallpaper brings so much energy, while the deep navy vanity and brass accents keep it feeling elegant and classic. The fresh flowers and all the thoughtful little details make it feel extra inviting.

My friend Yvonne recently shared these and I love them. These acrylic display risers can create height and interest on a sideboard, coffee table, or shelves in such a chic and elegant way!

This strawberry peach crumble with juicy, sweet fruit topped with a buttery, golden crumble is the perfect easy summer dessert.

This darling side table is such a pretty statement piece. Its lattice design feels so fresh and timeless, and it would fit in almost any room.

Small bathroom? No problem. These stunning walk-in shower ideas have so much inspiration to make your bathroom feel like a luxurious retreat—and such gorgeous tile selections!
