Come Sit By Me: Volume 28

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
This week’s update includes good music, good company, good conversation, and summer came screaming in in Texas…
- First up: I got to check “see Post Malone live” off my list, and even better, it was with Jelly Roll. I’ve been playing Posty’s country album F-1 Trillion on repeat, so seeing it live with friends felt like one of the “Finer Things” in life. And speaking of that song, one of my girlfriends wore the perfect shirt with one of the lyrics—so fitting for her and the night. Post Malone really showed his deep appreciation for performing at Cowboys Stadium—he’s a hometown boy and a huge Cowboys fan. And Jelly Roll didn’t just sing—he preached, and his story and message were every bit as soulful as his voice.

- Mother’s Day was simple and sweet, just how I like it. Church and lunch with one of my kids, and a long phone catch-up with the other. It was low-key, but it was full of the things that matter most for me as a mom.
- And then there’s the crazy weather in Texas. We went straight a streak of beautiful days in the eighties and then—bam, it was 103 on Wednesday. 🥵
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
There’s something so welcoming about a front porch dressed for summer! This post has such lovely and doable ideas to add charm and seasonal style—whether your space is big or small.

These ruffled cotton napkins are the sweetest touch for summer entertaining! I’m smitten with the classic red, white, and blue—they’d be super cute for a July 4th table or any patriotic picnic.

This colorful fruit pizza is as beautiful and patriotic as it is delicious—perfect for summer gatherings or just a fun treat at home. The sugar cookie crust and cream cheese frosting are such a nostalgic combo!

If your kitchen needs a little refresh, these counter stools are such a stylish find! They remind me of ones I’ve seen for years at Ballard Designs, but at a better price. Their coastal feel would work beautifully in so many spaces.

If you love timeless architecture and coastal charm, this home is a dream. Every detail feels elegant yet relaxed—like a perfect summer breeze captured in design.
