Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
This week was all about birthday celebrations and finally checking off a little project that’s been hanging over me for way too long.

- First, I had dinner with a group of besties I’ve been lucky enough to call friends for over 25 years. We’ve seen each other through all of our kid concerns (plus a few divorces) and now we are entering the empty nest and “what hurts right now” era together. There’s just something so comforting about being around people who’ve known every version of you for that long and still have your back. This birthday dinner to celebrate our beautiful friend in the middle did not disappoint with the laughs, the stories, and the usual insults (all in fun).

- Then last weekend I got to go to a gorgeous 50th birthday party for a sweet friend at the Ritz-Carlton. Everyone was dressed in white, and the birthday girl looked stunning in royal blue—like the queen of the night she was. The color theme, the upscale setting, and so many friends to celebrate her in one place made this milestone birthday so very fabulous!
- After nearly a year in this villa, I’m finally tackling which family photos are making the wall cut. Downsizing means wall space is precious, so I’ve settled on only hanging a very small gallery of portraits in the blank hallway that’s been silently judging me for months. To make peace with the fact that I can’t display many without feeling cluttered, I ordered a digital picture frame as a solution. Now I’m trying to figure out the easiest (and cheapest) way to digitize a large amount of old photos that weren’t taken with phones. Has anyone tried a dedicated photo scanner that’s reasonably priced, or a good app?

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This charming South Carolina farmhouse is nestled right in the heart of a peach orchard—what a dream! From its breezy front porch to the vintage-inspired details throughout, every inch is packed with Southern beauty.

The textured gold finish and contemporary design of this candelabra would look modern and chic on a console or dining table:

If you love a warm, homemade breakfast, these easy breakfast rolls are a must-try! They’re soft, buttery, and filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese—like your favorite breakfast sandwich wrapped up in a cozy crescent roll.

This soft and dreamy landscape print brings a calming touch of nature indoors. The blend of greens, blues, and muted peach tones feels like a peaceful countryside morning, and it would work beautifully in any space that needs a gentle, grounding focal point.

Kate, I’m going to make those breakfast rolls for brunch tomorrow! They look so delicious! Thanks for the recipe! How is your duck doing?
Enjoy your weekend!
Let me know how they come out—they look delicious! My duck is gone and the eggs are hatched but I missed them leaving. I’ve been looking at the pond closest to me on my walks, but she must have relocated to another neighborhood. I’m strangely disappointed. 😂
