Come Sit By Me: Volume 18
Inside: Welcome to the weekend and our weekly catch-up, Come Sit By Me. I’m spilling the sweet tea on what’s happened this week, what’s inspiring me, and a few things that have caught my eye that I think you’ll love too!

Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- After not getting back in town from New Orleans until 10 pm on Monday, Tuesday became my Monday so I’ve felt behind and haven’t known what day it was all week. It was all worth it because I made so many wonderful memories with family and friends. Glad this was just a little taste of this bananas foster king cake drink because it was delicious:

- I got to march in the Iris parade in a walking krewe called “Ladies of Leisure Kaftan Club” and these women were so much fun! We pretty much danced the whole way and my little group had a cocktail theme. I was the champagne—I think this picture was taken by a photographer when my headpiece was falling off 😂.

- Back to real life this week with a broken toilet (fixed myself👍), car’s check engine light on (again), and the strangest weather mid-week with winds of 60 mph kicking up a dust storm that turned the sky an eerie red.
- Do you give anything up for Lent? I decided to take advantage of this time to sacrifice something I enjoy to reset a habit that’s become a big time suck for me. Forty days with no TV (I do have an exception if I’m getting together with someone where it’s a social activity). I’m looking forward to getting some books read. Send me any reading recommendations you love!

The Best Book I have ever read is GONE WITH THE WIND. It is long and such a love story. I may read it again.
Highly recommended
My mother had it and I read at least part of it when I was a teenager, but can’t remember if I read the whole thing because it’s been so long!
You girls were having entirely too much fun! I need the recipe for a bananas foster king cake cocktail (2 parts creme de banane . . .). Pls. share the book recommendations you receive, plus your own.
P.S. Who is Trish Flake?
Putting figuring out how to make that drink on my to-do list for the Mardi Gras season next year, and if I do, I’m sure it will be a blog post!
