Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
This week has been about resetting, catching up, and attempting to start the year off in the best way. I got all of the Christmas decorations taken down and put away, and I’m loving the quiet, peaceful feeling the house has without all of those festive, yet in-your-face things. I knocked down my always-growing to-do list, checking off things like doctor’s appointments, tax and business stuff, and other un-fun but necessary tasks. My desk is cleaner than it’s been in months, which makes my brain feel calmer too.

I’ve sure enjoyed being back in my routines this week, and I’ve been trying to work some new goals and resolutions into my days. I’ve been walking every day (the 70-degree weather has made this easy so far), studying the Bible right when I wake up (goal is to read it in a year and if I don’t do it first thing, it just won’t happen), and getting back to reading more. I even bought a bathtub tray to prop up books—this resolution is much more likely to happen because I love long hot baths in the winter.
I’m soaking up this feeling of having it all a little more together this week… because that’s sure to change as I head out of town again in a few days for a blog retreat!
