Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

Remember how last week I said I was trying to power through my December to-do list? Well, the universe had other plans.
I kicked off last weekend in Waco for the final Baylor football game of the season and all the usual fun—tailgating, catching up with friends, and dinner. I knew I didn’t feel good, but I refused to believe it and ignored it (being sick does not fit into my December schedule.)
By Sunday morning, my body had other plans and zero interest in my holiday schedule. I got extremely sick, had to be hauled to urgent care, and got diagnosed with a kidney infection. I’ve never had one, but I’m here to tell you it doesn’t play. I’m honestly shocked at how fast I got so sick and how long this thing is hanging on.
So instead of knocking out Christmas content like a little elf on espresso as planned, I’ve spent this week rotating between antibiotics, naps, and drinking a ton of water. I’m getting better every day which I’m thankful for, and trying not think about my to-do list for the next two weeks.😬
Words to Get Through the Week.

Pretty Pictures, Yummy Recipes, and Things I Just Want to Spend Money On.
This Christmas tree is such a beautiful reminder that decorating with rich, classic colors never goes out of style. The mix of orange, blue, and warm brown feels both traditional and wonderfully collected, creating a tree that looks like it’s been lovingly added to over the years.

This little holiday simmer kit is such a charming way to fill your home with the warm, familiar scents of the season. I just adore how something so small can create such a cozy Christmas mood.

These savory cranberry roll-ups have a blend of sweet and tangy flavors that always feels right at Christmastime, and they’re wonderfully simple to prepare. A perfect little recipe to keep on hand for cozy get-togethers.

This elegant set of cheese knives is such a lovely addition to any board. A beautiful little upgrade for anyone who enjoys hosting.

If you love Christmas décor that feels timeless and full of tradition, this beautiful home tour is such a delight. Every room is filled with classic touches that remind me of the way holiday decorating has always been done, with warmth and intention. It’s lovely inspiration for creating a home that feels truly welcoming this season.
