Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.

Last weekend I wrapped up all of my birthday celebrations in the best way, with my girlfriends of 25 years (this is the last one, I promise). We spent the evening on a perfect October night at a rooftop restaurant in historic downtown Grapevine, with a beautiful sunset, music, and as always, laughs, life updates, and old stories.

They all brought me such thoughtful gifts (they know me so well) and the most amazing idea for a group present… a custom made bracelet with each of our seven birthstones:

We took photos at sunset, had dinner, drinks, and dessert (with a birthday sparkler candle, of course), and talked about how rare it is to find a group of friends as adults like we have and keep it together for so many years. We’ve seen our children grow from babies to adults and have been together through so many life happenings, from the milestones to the messy.💗

Last Saturday I spent watching Baylor play at TCU with two of these friends. It hasn’t rained here in weeks, but man it poured during the game—and only during the game. The raindrops were so big at one point they looked like hail, and I had a small pond on top of my legs that ran down under my raincoat into my shorts. But since it wasn’t cold, my friends and I continued to sit in the stands and had a great time despite the wet pants!
But this week we’ve had the most gorgeous fall weather—cool mornings, sunny afternoons, and colorful sunsets in the evening. On Thursday I got to enjoy a beautiful night at an outdoor concert on the lawn by the lake at the Dallas Arboretum, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect… about 70 degrees which is my kind of fall.
Words to Get Through the Week.

Game day never looked so good! This tailgate table is full of delicious bites, pretty fall colors, and fun football touches for cheering on your favorite team in style outdoors.

There’s something so beautifully simple about this natural corn husk wreath. Its warm texture and organic style make it the perfect way to welcome fall to your front door.

If fall had a flavor, this might be it. This spiced apple cider donut loaf is tender, buttery, and covered in a sweet cinnamon-sugar crust that’s impossible to resist.

This French La Chatelaine hand cream trio is such a lovely little luxury! With rich shea butter and beautiful floral scents, it’s the perfect stocking stuffer or hostess gift in this pretty tin.

This red and blue plaid Christmas tree is bursting with classic holiday charm. The mix of rich ribbon, shimmering gold accents, and glowing lights creates such an elegant look.
