Welcome to “Come Sit By Me”! It’s our chance to catch up on the little things I’d share with you this week if we could chat on the porch over coffee (or wine depending on the time of day).
Life Lately in a Nutshell.
- I’m actually writing this on Wednesday even though you’ll be reading it on Saturday, because I’m heading out to Hilton Head tomorrow with girlfriends for round three of the birthday celebrations. These two days at home have been a blur—trying to catch up on blog work, daily life, and packing all over again. And the thought that I’ll need to start on Christmas decorating just a week after I get back is absolutely blowing my mind.
- My actual big birthday is in the books and hasn’t bothered me a bit because the weekend was so amazing! The celebrations kicked off in Waco with football and some delicious dinners with friends. Here’s us on a beautiful (but warm) October day in our “gold out” attire walking past the Shops at the Silos after an exciting Baylor win:

- Then on Sunday, I celebrated my actual birthday in Fort Worth at the gorgeous Bowie House hotel, and it was everything you’d want for a milestone birthday.

We spent the afternoon lounging by the pool with cocktails in hand, followed by an incredible dinner at their restaurant, Bricks and Horses. Every bite was phenomenal, and the hotel itself was just stunning—upscale but full of Western charm. Everywhere I looked, there was another thoughtful design detail that made me want to stay longer just to take it all in.

- Even though I wasn’t exactly looking forward to hitting this big milestone number, really life has never been better. Feeling so grateful for good friends, and this beautiful season I’m in.❤️
