Ingredients

For the Base (Amounts are flexible—use 1–2 domes of Boursin and adjust the jam and toppings to fit the size of your dish and how thick you like each layer):

  • 1 –2 rounds Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs softened
  • 3 –6 tablespoons fig jam

Pistachio + Honey Version

  • 2 –4 tablespoons chopped pistachios
  • 1 –2 teaspoons honey
  • Optional: hot honey for a spicy variation

Bacon + Pecan Version

  • 2 –4 tablespoons chopped toasted pecans
  • 2 –4 tablespoons crumbled cooked bacon

Instructions

  • Soften the Boursin: Let the Boursin sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes so it spreads easily.
  • Prep the nuts: Chop the pistachios and pecans. If using pecans, toast them first in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes until fragrant.
  • Cook the bacon (if using): Cook until crisp, then crumble.
  • Spread the cheese: Place the softened Boursin into a shallow 6–7 inch dish and use the back of a spoon or spatula to spread it into an even layer. If using a plate or cheese board, you can keep the dome shape instead of spreading if desired.
  • Add the fig jam: Spoon the jam over the cheese and spread gently.

Choose your topping style:

  • Pistachio + Honey: Sprinkle chopped pistachios over the jam and drizzle with honey or hot honey.
  • Bacon + Pecan: Add crumbled bacon and sprinkle toasted pecans over the top.
  • Serve: Enjoy with crackers, crostini, or apple slices

Notes

  • There’s no strict measurement for this recipe—use the amount of cheese, fig jam, pistachios, pecans, honey, or bacon that fits your dish and your taste.
  • This appetizer is meant to be flexible. Any flavor of Boursin will work—Garlic & Fine Herbs is classic, but Shallot & Chive and Black Pepper pair wonderfully with fig jam.
  • If you can’t find fig jam, apricot, raspberry, cranberry sauce, or red pepper jelly make great substitutes.
  • To make ahead: spread the Boursin and add the jam up to 4 hours ahead. Add toppings just before serving.
  • Serve slightly softened—cold Boursin is harder to spread.
