  1. I love the brick back splash with black (with white) countertops. I can’t see your sink. Is it white? I have inherited and old white sink and kind of want to keep it. I am not sure if that will work with the black counter. My appliances are white. What do you suggest? I want the brick spackled (?) with white. Thankyou. Susan

    1. Thank you Susan! My sink is made of black composite granite and I still really love it. But if your appliances are white it may help balance the white sink. I also love the look of the German schmear spackle technique on brick—I hope to use it somewhere someday!!

It has the wood cabinets black copper and white veins marble counter tops I want brick like you have on the floor I can’t find them i want it in a herringbone pattern I don’t know how to do the back splash. Im doing industrial farm house design please help for flooring and back splash and behind my stove I’m having black and iron lighting and copper accents my email donalynnwhiting@gmail.com

    1. Hi Dona! Our brick was already on the floor when we bought the house and there were a few boxes in the attic that we used for the backsplash. They are actually very thin pieces of brick and fairly easy to find now. I’ve seen them at Floor and Decor and Lowes: https://rstyle.me/+xoRff9nbybZMcQNoiKiYFA I hope that helps—I’d love to see your kitchen when you get it done!

WOW!!! What a transformation! Your kitchen is stunning!!!

I have to agree – great choice on cabinets. I love the style you chose. Shaker isn’t right for everyone. Certainly not for me – just doesn’t work well with traditional or European flaired design.

Love the brick backsplash, choice of chandies – and what a NEAT idea to have the soffit area made into nooks for decorating. That’s brilliant.
Well done – enjoy it – you have earned it. And by the way? Your fridge is dreamy. Hug your hubs for me. Because he WAS right!!! ♥♥♥

  4. I love your cabinets. Thank you for not gong with the oh so boring shaker style. When I was ordering new cabinets for my old house, all of the sales people tried to talk me into the shaker style. But, even though I was not going to live in the house anymore, I wanted the kitchen to be perfect so I chose a more ornate cupboard style in white. It turned out beautiful. Your kitchen is a dream kitchen. Your vision was spot on.

    1. Awww thank you for those kind words!! I know shaker cabinets are the thing right now but I do like my cabinets to have more detail. We even had the cabinet maker add extra trim so we were definitely bucking the trend!

  5. I just love the remodel of this kitchen! I especially love the flooring! Did you stain the tiles and brick to match the updated color palette?

    1. Thank you!! The floors were a mess but we didn’t want to replace them. I freshened them up by chiseling off the thick yellow varnish in a few places (mostly the pantry) and then used grout renew to recolor the grout to oyster gray. It was a good bit of work but amazing what a difference it made!
